  Biography	Leaves Mannheim on 2 September 1911 for Nantes, France. Returns to Germany apparently at beginning of First World War and is then in the German army. Returns to his parents' house in L 13,18 on 28 November 1918. On 3 May 1919 moves to Beuthen. Returns home to Mannheim again on 1 October 1923. On 8 April 1927 moves to Saarbrücken from 1935 lived in Paris - Le Bois d'Oingt In 1935, there was a plebiscite on the fate of the Saar, and the result was in favour of Germany (and against France). Many Jews then left Saarbrücken, including the Hirschler family. First they went to Paris, until the Germans invaded Paris, then on to Lyon, and finally out into the country near Lyon at Le Bois d’Oingt for the duration (this was where the Stradivarius reached them).  [1, 2]
