Ida Schulhöfer was the widow of Salomon Schulhöfer (1865 – 1939), who as a food chemist at the district agricultural research institute in Würzburg had risen from assistant to director and who had been active at the Jewish (Israelite) Teacher Training Institute (ILBA) during the years 1907 – 1912, as a teacher. Ida Schulhöfer had lived until 1893 in Adelebsen. Afterwards, until her marriage in the year 1899, she lived in Marktbreit at her aunt’s house. She was a housewife and a member of the Jewish cultural society. In January 1941 she was interrogated by the Gestapo and warned because she was trying via the Jewish Religion Society in Basel to maintain contact with her son who had been deported to Southern France, and to take out a subscription for him to the “Frankfurter Zeitung”. In October 1941 she was admitted to the Jewish old people’s home at No 3 Konrad Sreet, and on 23rd September 1942 she was deported to Theresienstadt, where she died on 14th March 1944.
