Zionism and Palestine - Sir Ronald Storrs: wrote this book and mentioned the twins, Harry and Thomas Oppe, who were with him at Chaterhouse: " What does the average English boy know of Jews As Jews, nothing. The firm was called, White, Cooper, Oppe and Martin (address: 1A Peking Road, Shanghai). Given that Daniel Jaffe was in Hong Kong during the same period, have you any information relating to them meeting up, or corresponding with each other I would dearly love to know about his activities out there. He was a reserve in the Shanghai army and in his application for a temporary commission in the British army contains a letter from the British intelligence in Shanghai thanking him for “rendering valuable assistance” – was he a spy too!
